Contributor Guidelines

MAWA is a quarterly magazine that celebrates and inspires a broad community of Martial Artists across the country. Our goal is to support all MA practitioners. Both instructors and students are encouraged to share their personal experiences, triumphs and challenges within the style they love.
We feature interviews, rants, research, photography, projects and editorials that are respectful to all styles and are keeping in line with our magazines inclusive philosophy.
Just as no two styles of Martial Arts are alike, our writers should have their own unique voice and tell their story from their own perspective, we encourage you to speak your truth.
Don’t worry if you feel that your writing is not up to scratch, just tell us your story, your tip or your instruction the best way you can and our in house editor will do the rest.
Email your submissions to info@MartialArtsMagazineAustralia.com (text in .doc) and (photos in JPEG or PNG).
Please ensure that you own the copyright of any images submitted.
Our goal is to keep MAMA for the Martial Artists, not the profiteers. We will remain advertisement free, while endeavoring to produce a top quality community magazine that we are all proud of. To keep sale costs low we cannot offer contributors financial compensation for their submission. However we can allow you to add your club and organisation’s contact information to the footnote of your article along with your own bio.
